A hike on a mountain

Recently, my husband and I went on a hike on a nearby mountain. It is getting hot in Arizona this time of year, but the mountain was a crisp 50 degrees this week. I got some beautiful shots. This particular mountain actually lost a huge percent of trees to a wild fire more than 10 yrs ago. Naturally, it is still growing back.

Arizona Desert

A recent day in the desert here in the Arizona heat. Spring in the desert is not the same as in many places. No blooming flowers, no bright green grass, just the same desert you see all year long. Dry, dead cacti, heat, and abandoned garbage. It may not be beautiful to some but it is easy to miss when it isn’t taken in by the right eyes. Image

These are a few photographs that I took recently during a trip to Mt. Lemon’s Rose Canyon Lake. Something relaxing about looking at these photographs imagining sitting in the big open canyon with few to no other surrounding people.
